Stability… Priceless!

Changes are inevitable in life. Some are welcome, but some are not. For example, the changing of the seasons for this Iowan is comforting. Though winter is not my favorite season, I enjoy the beauty of fresh fallen snow and the glistening icy branches. The new buds peeking through the thawed ground in the spring time promise me warmer days ahead, and eventually hot summer days arrive clothed in green grass and bushy shrubs, and yards decorated with flowers of all sizes and colors. My favorite change features trees bursting with colored leaves of gold, red, and orange. Autumn fills me with anticipation of the harvest season, family birthdays, chilly nights, and coming holidays. Then, the cycle repeats all over again.

The expected changes mentioned above assure me that the God of Design brings stability through variety. The star constellations and moon phases follow a pattern of change due to the planet’s location to the sun, but the star patterns and moon are still recognizable. However, changes in the moral, cultural, and educational systems throw me into a tailspin. Somethings I no longer recognize as being foundational in our lives. Foundations form the framework of our very being,; everything else builds on a firm foundation, and if the foundation crumbles or shifts, so do we.

The Bible speaks to this truth. Jesus, the Chief Cornerstone, is the Christian’s foundation. If we build on any other, truth and light does not exude from our lives, and our eternal destiny with Christ slips away at death. Unlike the man who builds his house on the sand and it crumbles, we must build our home on a sure foundation. Jesus, the Anchor of our souls holds us fast through His Word, and keeps us focused on proven principles and standards for living.

Some change is inevitable, but not all change is desirable, or even better. The Light of Truth and Righteousness produces protection and direction down our paths of life in a world full of darkness and evil. Stability through faith in Christ, and His ways, Word, and principles, lead us through each storm of change with Him as our solid anchor. He holds us steady, and I thank Him for it. Stability through Christ is Priceless!

What about you? On who, or what, is your foundation built? Thanks for stopping by and sharing your perspective on change.

About thehopebeacon

Wecome to my blog! I am a Christian wife, mother, and grandmother who wants to share my lifetime experiences with those who share the same interests and roles. I served as an educator for twenty-one years as both a classroom teacher and an Instructional Services Consultant. Most recently I chose to write children's books. This new path as an author led me to create this website. I seek to inspire, uplift, encourage, and advise those who come here who share common interests or life experiences as myself.
